ABSTRACT

Radioactive ions beam facility at GANIL

B.Rannou, Ganil, Caen, France

The GANIL is now operating the SPIRAL facility since one year. It is dedicate to the production of RIB using the ISOL method with light masses targets and heavy ions à 100 u/MeV. In this paper we will present the SPIRAL facility and the first results in the field of radiationprotection and safety.

In a second part, the LINAG project will be presented. It consist on a low energy high intensity deuterons accelerator used to make fissions on a thick uranium target to produce secondary beams from fission products. The discussion will focus on the preliminary studies alleady donne : activation calculations of the target, gases releases, Š
