ABSTRACT

Contamination of the ISOLDE vacuum system

The vacuum system serving the front end and experimental area of ISOLDE is subject to radioactive contamination.

Results of measurements of contamination from the different targets are presented. Heavy targets as UC or ThC cause additional risk from contamination with alpha-emitters.
